Exploring the foundational elements of full color painting through the figure
This one week workshop guides the student through the building blocks of full color painting by introducing the skills taught in the four year curriculum at Studio Incamminati. The student will be introduced to the preliminary gesture upon which is built the solid masses of light and shadow. Color study exercises will be taught and time will be given to the understanding of their goals and implementation in full color painting in order to judge and adjust color relationships. The participants will be guided through a logical development of the form as the major planes of the figure are seen as changes in color and value. Finally all the skills introduced in the first days of the workshop will be brought to the opening stages of full color painting through longer poses on the final two days of the workshop. The student should come away with a working approach to building a painting.
