This workshop focuses on fundamental principles essential to achieving a convincing three-dimensional representation of the human figure in oil. These principles will be analyzed in a logical sequence beginning with gesture and continuing through to the study of color and its effect on the figure and its environment.
This is an information-packed workshop, guiding participants through exercises designed to extract specific information from the live model. The painting process is broken down into stages and the painting built through awareness of main angles, masses, structure, anatomical landmarks, values and color relationships. All skill levels are accepted, but students should have experience working from a live model. Each student receives individual attention to ensure the information is clear.
Darren, a Studio Incamminati graduate and instructor has works in the collections of Lucasfilm Ltd., the production company founded by Star Wars creator George Lucas as well as numerous private collections. His work has been in many exhibitions including shows a The National Arts Club, The Union League of Philadelphia, and John Pence Gallery.
