Drawing is the foundation of all successful representational life painting and sculpture. With that in mind, the workshop goal is to create a life drawing over the course of two consecutive full days that displays an action, sense of proportion and solid three- dimensional construction of form, through both line and shaded values. At the end of the second session, several hours are dedicated to short poses in order to execute the principles learned from the long pose. We work on toned paper with black and white media to help facilitate the modeling of form. Newsprint is recommended for the short-pose segment. Demonstrations and lectures are given at intervals during the workshop and individual instruction is a priority.
Beginners and advanced artists are encouraged to take this workshop.
